The Little Match Girl
The Last Baguette Theatre Company

Stacks Image 709583
A family show for Christmas inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s traditional tale.

London. Christmas Eve. The snow is falling. A little girl struggles fiercely through the cold. We follow her throughout the day as she encounters the funny and zany characters of the vibrant city streets.

In an attempt to stay warm she strikes a match, then a second and third. In the cold the flames blaze to life and the flickering fire illuminates her fantastic Christmas visions. With each strike we enter the tumultuous world of her imagination, meeting talking turkeys, dancing rats, Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their chattering Christmas tree.

Having delighted audiences in 2017 The Last Baguette return with this touching, madcap and heart-warming Christmas show. The company use their signature style of visual storytelling, live music and puppetry to shine a light on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic winter tale. Written by T. A. Woodsmith, winner of the Sunday Times Playwriting Award.

The Last Baguette are ‘Company in Residence’ at Pound Arts, Corsham. We make fast-paced, irreverent physical comedy, and believe in the power of physical comedy and silliness to talk about important issues of our times. The theatre we make is entertaining, accessible and eccentric. We have performed in the UK, France, Switzerland and Canada.

Beautiful Creatures Theatre at the Village Hall

Saturday 13th October 2018 - 6pm

Stacks Image 709501
Beautiful Creatures Theatre presents a high-flying, tightrope-walking, slightly hypnotising adventure. A brand new, hilarious adaptation of AF Harrold’s much-loved book for children featuring puppetry, magic and a lion with false teeth!

There was once a boy whose name was Fizzlebert Stump who lived in a travelling circus. His best friend was a sea lion, his history teacher a magician, and every night he put his head right inside a lion’s mouth.

It sounds like a frightfully exciting place to live, don’t you think? But it’s the library, of all places, where Fizzlebert stumbles into a terrifying situation of great peril, where he finally makes a friend, and where his strange circus skills really come in .
