The village hall is an excellent fully equipped venue for hosting children’s parties and ceremonies, wedding receptions, seminars, training courses, exercise classes, dance classes, theatre, film shows and many other corporate, group, club or society social activities, all offered at competitive, all inclusive rates.

We are currently not accepting bookings for private parties for those aged 13 and over, except for residents of Godmersham and Crundale parishes. Proof of residency will be required if you are not known to a committee member.

We have a Main Hall that seats up to 130 in a banquet setting or 150 in ‘Theatre’ setting. Large numbers can be accommodated for functions which are primarily ‘standing’.

The smaller John Sunley room can be used separately or as an extension room to the Main hall and is ideal for setting up buffets or games area.

A large and well appointed Kitchen has been designed with the professional caterer in mind, offering them the space and equipment to work in to provide food and drink for your event.

We have over two acres of grounds with ample space for outdoor activities

Licensing

We are licensed for licensable activities to be undertaken from 7am to 11pm. Licensable activities are the performance of plays, indoor sports events, playing live music, playing recorded music, performance of dance, other entertainment, facilities for making music, facilities for dancing, entertainment facilities.

Alcohol

If you are giving alcohol to guests during a meal, during a private party or function then NO LICENCE is required.

If you wish to sell alcohol to the public or guests at your event, or are hiring a pay bar, you MUST HAVE a license. Often pay bar staff / owners have their own personal licenses - please check with them first.

It is your responsibility to ensure the correct license is held and that the licensing conditions as required by law are met.  A Temporary Event Notice (click for info) may be needed and must be obtained by the hirer at least 21 days in advance from Ashford Borough Council. 

Included in Hire

The following are included in your hire price: Car Park, the Hall Building, Kitchen and all equipment, Tables, Chairs, Disco & Mood Lighting, Sound System / PA, Digital Projector and Screen, Plates, Cutlery, Glasses (*see below), Heating and Lighting. 
 
* A certain number of plates, cutlery and glasses are included in the booking price. However, if you are holding a formal banquet requiring uniformity of style and colour, you may wish to hire the items in externally. You should also arrange your own soft furnishings such as table cloths and napkins.
 
We have 10 rectangular Go-Pak tables, 15 five foot diameter round tables, and 140 chairs. The tables all seat 6 to 8.
 
Note that we have a full set of sound activated disco lights and high quality Sound System/PA - so no need to hire a DJ! All you need is a device such as a mobile phone, ipad, ipod or laptop with a playlist and a standard headphone socket.

A deposit is required, and is refunded to you by BACS transfer within 7 days after your booking, once the hall, grounds and equipment have been inspected.
